What is the world coming too?

It was once said that the Devil rises up to wreak havoc every century to test us all. 2020 has been a test for sure. We started off with COVID-19, then riots and now we are expecting the worse hurricane season in a long time. We need to all come together and show the Devil he is not wanted here.

What happened to love thy neighbor. When I was growing up, my father was much older than most of the fathers I knew. He was 59 when I was born. I learned a lot of things that other kids had never heard of. When I was growing up, we practiced some old traditions that reminded you to love thy neighbor. On May 1 you would put a basket on someone porch to remind them that they mattered in your life. This was something that you would do anonymously. Read more about May Basket Day HERE. Why don’t people practice these old traditions anymore, because they don’t think about other people?

What happened to George Floyd, in Minneapolis was unthinkable. The officers involved should be prosecuted to the full extent of the law. The others should have stopped him from killing him. That being said, what is happening in the US is a horrible tribute to Mr. Floyd. How many people have died because of the riots? I am all for PEACEFUL demonstrations. If you want people to hear your message, please by all means have a PEACEFUL gathering. The riots have accomplished nothing, but unrest, destruction of property and more senseless DEATH. We all bleed red, let us not see any more of it.

We need to remember that not all Officers, Detention Officer and Public Safety Officers are bad. There are bad apples in all professions. Maybe we need to look at better training and stricter guidelines for hiring and maintaining employment.

I don’t care if you are White, Black, Brown, Green (in case the Marshins are reading this) or Yellow. We need to treat each other with love. My best friend of 45 years is not of the same ethnic background as I am. Do I look at her any differently than I would someone else? NO! We need to remember that having someone treat you with respect is a two-way street. I treat everyone the same. Love thy neighbor. There are some people I just don’t like, so I just stay away from them. This came from a recent story of someone who shot another man in the face, killing him, because they had been in an ongoing feud for years. You can read article HERE. Again I will say, “If I don’t like someone, I stay away from them”.

I think we stopped listening to others a long time ago. Listen to your friends, family and everyone you speak with. Sometimes they just need someone to HEAR them. “It’s hard to make something clear when someone isn’t trying to understand”. These are my opinions, you don’t have to agree with them, but please consider them.
